In celebrity world this has been a sad week with the passing of David Bowie and Alan Rickman. I did my best to try to find some rays of sunshine in this week and I am sharing them all with you:
- Adele, just Adele
Fine I will be more specific. I love her new album, 25 so so much. I cry listening to certain songs. Even more specific watch this Carpool Karaoke with James Corden
- Cathedrals by Ruby Amanfu
I discovered Ruby on a Best of 2015 playlist and fell in love with this song. Her voice is beautiful and the song is charming and sweet. For me it reminds me of a mix of Regina Spektor and Damien Rice.
- Girl Online by Zoe Sugg
Yes a novel by a Youtuber but the book is cute and charming. It is a perfect teen romance fluff book with some uniqueness. For teens or adults experiencing anxiety and panic attacks it is sweet and kind of helpful. I really enjoyed the book.
It is Oscar season so I have been watching a ton of movies so here are two suggestions if you are able to see these:
- Creed– It is a great drama. It may make you cry. It will make you cheer. It is real too and directed so so well. Also the music is phenomenal.
- 45 Years– Beautiful and subtle. It may seem slow but if you take a deep breath and focus you will find yourself enveloped in a bleak world that makes you truly understand two people so well in less than 2 hours.
- Critical Role
It is live Dungeons and Dragons that is played on Thursdays via Geek and Sundry Twitch. It is 3+ hours of adventure and hilarity and so much emotion. It also stars people that you will eventually fall in love with. You can start by checking out episode 1 from YouTube and go on from there.
Hank and John Green comprise of said Vlogbrothers who blog to each other (and us) two times a week. This week’s video from John was particularly great. talking about Star Wars and what it means to create something and send it off into the world.
And after you get through with all of the above or you just want to have a snuggle-in weekend- I suggest watching Galaxy Quest, Harry Potter movies, and listening to Hunky Dory.
