Movie List 2019

This will be a constantly updated list for 2019.  I will give my initial review out of 10 and a 3-5 word (summary). Full reviews may be added later.
In short my movie goal is to see 150 new movies this year and watch or rewatch all of Daniel Day Lewis films (new DDL movies italicized below).

  5. If Beale Street Could Talk (2018)- Contemplative, beautiful, tragic [8/10]
  6. In the Name of the Father (1993)- Charged, Engaging, Great Acting [8/10]
  7. Seven Samurai (1954)- Emotional, Avant-Garde, Bold [9/10]
  8. The Guilty (2018)- Tense, Driving, Captivating [8/10]
  9. Vice (2018)- Partially Good, Schlocky, Condescending [5/10]
  10. Veteran (2015)- Solid Action with Good Emotional Punches [8.5/10]
  11. You Were Never Really Here (2017)- Pensive, Devastating, Mesmerizing [9/10]
  12. Last of the Mohicans (1992)- Adventuretastic Beautiful Film [7.5/10]
  13. Hero (2004)- I couldn’t keep my eyes off of it [9/10]
  14. We Need To Talk About Kevin (2011)-Terrifying, Intense, Mesmerizing [8.5/10]
  15. Fiddler On The Roof (1971)- Fun, Interesting, Lovely [7/10]
  16. Too Funny To Fail (2017)- I learned so much and had a great time [6/10]
  17. In the Mood For Love (2000)- Just Amazing. [10/10]
  18. Death of Stalin (2018)- Hilarious and biting [8/10]
  19. Compulsion (1959)- Good acting and writing [8/10]
  20. Book Club (2018)- Fun, fun, fun [7/10]
  21. The Departed (2006)- Should have seen this earlier [8/10]
  22. Suddenly (1954)- Short but not worth it [2/10]
  23. The Handmaiden (2016)- so beautiful, spectacular [9/10]
  24. Tea With Dames (2018)- fun and lovely [7/10]
  25. Mapplethorpe: Look At the Pictures (2016)- so interesting [8/10]
  26. Velvet Goldmine (1998)- OMG I am in love [9/10]
  27. Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened (2019)- who knew watching a trash fire could be so fun [7/10]
  28. No Country For Old Men (2007)- Really great movie [9/10]
  29. The Last Detail (1973)- mostly okay [6/10]
  30. Fyre Fraud (2019)- more trash fire!!! [5/10]
  31. Still Crazy (1998)- Bill Nighy yayay [7.5/10]
  32. Can You Ever Forgive Me? (2018)- no idea. Okayish? [5/10]
  33. Wild At Heart (1990)- A young Elvis fever dream [8/10]
  34. Red Rock West (1993)- Quick punchy neo-noir [6/10]
  35. Gone in 60 Seconds (2000)- Fun, dumb, and full of c—ars [7/10]
  36. Kusama: Infinity (2018)- Love learning about art and strong women [8/10]
  37. Cold War (2018)- Pretty but so boring and annoying [3.5/10]
  38. Lethal Weapon 2 (1989)- well constructed action movie [7/10]
  39. Persona (1966)-I can’t begin to describe how much I love this movie. Double trouble! [9.5/10]
  40. Chungking Express (1994)- slow burn but so much love [8/10]
  41. Elaine Stritch: Shoot Me (2013)- fun. love broadway divas [6/10]
  42. Six By Sondheim (2013)- did not realize how personable Sondheim is. Much love [7/10]
  43. Hale County This Morning, This Evening (2018)- beautiful, real, raw. Must see [8/10]
  44. The Killing Fields (1984)- Raw and punchy which I love when a movie does this. [6/10]
  45. Con Air (1997)- THE MOST FUN EVAH [8/10}
  46. 2046 (2004)- Moody and beautiful. J’adore [9/10]
  47. Thin Blue Line (1998)- Compelling, Intense, Amaze [9/10]
  48. Hoop Dreams (1994)- Compelling, Intense, Great [8.5/10]
  49. Black Kklansman (2018)- Laborious, boring with great parts [5/10]
  50. Fog of War (2003)- So interesting. Much learn [9/10]
  51. One Day in September (1999)- A great thriller in a documentary [9/10]
  52. Green Book (2018)- wha?????? [0/10]
  53. Fighting with My Family (2019)- lovely, heartwarming, engaging [7/10]
  54. Street Fight (2005)- crazy that this has been always happening [7/10]
  55. Grizzly Man (2005)- breathtaking and intense [10/10]
  56. Gasland (2010)- Important information told in an irritating way [6/10]
